Corbin Stresses Safety as PUC Temporarily Suspends Usage of Mariner East 1
HARRISBURG – Representative Becky Corbin (R-East Brandywine) today urged a focus on safety surrounding construction of the Mariner East 2 pipeline after the Public Utility Commission (PUC) temporarily suspended hazardous liquids transportation through Mariner East 1.

PUC Chairman Gladys Brown issued the emergency order on Wednesday at the request of the PUC’s Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement. The bureau asked for the action after sinkholes developed in West Whiteland Township.

“The safety of our community should always be paramount,” Corbin said. “The concerns raised by the bureau in its petition are troubling. I hope action is taken swiftly to address the sinkholes and further testing is done to assure additional problems do not develop.”

A copy of the order is available at

The 155th District consists of the following municipalities: West Brandywine, East Brandywine, Uwchlan, Upper Uwchlan, West Vincent, East Pikeland, Spring City, and part of Phoenixville.
