Route 100 Road Improvements to Begin, Corbin Says
HARRISBURG – Representative Becky Corbin (R-East Brandywine) today announced PennDOT will begin work to improve traffic flow and safety on State Route 100 (Pottstown Pike) in Chester County next week.

The $5.6 million project will encompass 6.3 miles between Garrison Drive and State Route 23 (Ridge Road). It will include resurfacing to increase friction and reduce hydroplaning; constructing two shoulder-widening pull-offs; and installing pavement markings, rumble strips, and guiderails. The entire project, which is scheduled to be completed in late summer, is funded by federal money.

“Route 100 is a major transportation artery used by thousands each day,” Corbin said. “While the construction work will cause some headaches, in the long run it will save drivers time and make the roadway safer. I’m pleased to see this project move forward.”

From Monday, February 19, until Friday, February 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., drivers will experience lane restrictions in both directions on Pottstown Pike between Black Horse Road and Ridge Road for clearing operations. Drivers should allow extra time when traveling through the work zone because slowdowns will occur during construction. The contractor’s schedule is weather dependent.

The 155th District consists of the following municipalities: West Brandywine, East Brandywine, Uwchlan, Upper Uwchlan, West Vincent, East Pikeland, Spring City, and part of Phoenixville.
